Windows Explorer can be really frustrating at times. Where I work, I need to manage 9 computers each of these are in a diferent city, so some are slower to connect to than others.

Judging from the amount of time it can take to get a simple file listing of a remote drive you would think you were copying the entire contents of the hard drive to your PC via the US Post Office, and then Explorer will just play dead for a while.

Simply stated, W.E. should never be in a do-nothing state. This has given me so much agrravation.

I have an expection that certain components of Windows should INSTANTEOUSLY respond to my commands. Task Manager is one, W.E. is another. W.E. doesn't have to execute them all instantly (I know that's unrealistic) but I should at least be able to close the stupid thing when it decides browsing a remote share drive is something too difficult for it to do.

astonshell is better then explorer for a desktop manager
astonshell is not spyware at all (does not attemp to connect to the internet)

explorer needs improving at the moment it is taking a bit too much CPU usage and RAM
