Windows Store Weekly: Gunpowder, YumVy Cooking Companion, HealthVault, Qool, The ESPN App
Apr 13, 2013 at 5:35 PMOK, I found this about the HealthVault app, but it still doesn't exactly answer my question. Who "owns" this database? Where does it reside? Who has access to it?
Windows Store Weekly: Gunpowder, YumVy Cooking Companion, HealthVault, Qool, The ESPN App
Apr 06, 2013 at 7:30 AMJust saw this episode. I'm interested in the HealthVault app. I like how there's a HealthVault website, app for Windows 8 and Windows Phone (I'm still at 7.5, but I see there's an app for that as well), and I also like the fact that it appears to work with my FitBit. But got some questions about it. My biggest question concerns who has access to my personal health data? In looking at this app and the website, I come to the conclusion that the data is stored, probably by Microsoft, somewhere in the cloud (Azure?), but since Microsoft has it, can they peruse it? Or is my personal health information encrypted in some fashion, so that even though they have the data, they can't peruse it? And besides them, how about FitBit? Do they have access to the data in HealthVault? Just how pervasive is this data?

Sep 08, 2012 at 9:51 AMThank you for your reply (and I'm very sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. It's entirely my own fault).
Yeah, I'm a big Doctor Who fan. Have been watching it since I first saw it broadcast in the 80's on PBS, and I confess my favorite Doctor was played by Tom Baker, hence the use of his image on my avatar. As Baker said to Harry Sullivan in The Robot, his first episode, "The definite article, you might say."

Aug 19, 2012 at 6:21 PM@BobTabor: Is the URL http://html5.validator.nu/ you've mentioned in this series, the website for validating HTML5? Or is that the website best suited for Niue?
Developer Platform Drill Down - Kevin Gallo, Windows Phone 8
Jul 03, 2012 at 5:35 PMDid Kevin mention something about Audible, saying that it was even available for WP 7.5? Sounds like something that's more or less along the lines of Siri, but when I look for it in the marketplace all I see if the Audible for book reading. Am I missing something?
