  Hey Bob!

  I wanted to take a moment to thank you so much for this series.  I've been a web developer for many years.  Most of those years have been in web forms, so I found that my JavaScript skills were in very poor condition.  This series has really helped me to bring them up to speed.

  I got interested in your series because I want to do some Windows 8 development, and for me I felt the best path is the HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript path.  I started doing some labs and realized I needed to work on some skills I let slide over the years.  Obviously JavaScript was one of them.

  Thank you very much for the work that you do, it is greatly appreciated.  I will definitely refer people to your series on Channel 9 and your site.

  At 00:00:37 I don't know why I never noticed that before!  Thank you for bringing that to my attention, that is a time saver.

  There were some other useful items in there as well, but I thought this one was really neat.

  My comment is about the Switch to Windows Phone App.  Don't hate, but I use a Droid 2 Global.  On the plus side, this means I can try this app.  I fall into one of the descriptions that Paul gave; a Droid user who is considering a Windows Phone.

  The app quickly ran and reported that it found matches for 82% of my apps.  It displays a neat little group of tiles (2hx4w) which change like live tiles displaying a small tile for each of the matches it found.

  Next it offers to save the list to the cloud and send an email reminder with instructions on how to get the apps on your Windows Phone.  This is where things start to get a bit buggy.  I got the email, but it was blank.  I went to the about page since that usually has links to contact the developers and sent an email to the address displayed.  My email was bounced back to me.

  As some one who is considering a Windows Phone as his next phone I really like the idea behind this app.  I have wondered how much of a pain it might be to try to locate the same apps on a Windows Phone that I normally use on my Droid.  While I thought the 2x4 grid was neat I would like to eventually see an actual list with links.  Maybe the list is suppose to show up in the email that was blank.

  I agree with you on the phone app.  I still use it as my primary on my Droid 2 Global, but that app could use some improvements.  Same with the Windows 8 mail app.

  Now here is a stupid newbie question for you, but one I've wondered before but never tried to look up.  Does the Live Mail (including the mail app on Windows 8) store the emails locally?  I wouldn't want to take up space with lots of emails and have to worry about saving them when I get a new machine.

  Wow, thank you for the recognition!

  I hate to admit it, but at one point I used Gmail as my primary.  I forget exactly why I had moved away from Hotmail to Gmail, but I came back to Hotmail when the new version was in preview.  I have not looked back since.

  I really like the clean look and feel.  It also seems to be easier to use.  Even my son remarked how much he liked the improvements over the old Hotmail and how easy it is to use.  Right now there are only three things I would like to add or change to Outlook.com.

  1. I know this one is in the works, but make the Calendar match the rest of the style.  
  2. Allow us to pop the chat pane out of the window.  I believe this functionality was in the old Hotmail version, and would keep multiple chats in tabs.
  3. I am sure this one is more complicated than us users think, but allow us to IM people on GTalk.

  Overall, the new Outlook is great.  I enjoy it so much that I quit using a mail client.

  Valentine's Day, well, I hid a couple of cards in obvious places for my wife to find.  Then I used my lunch break to deliver candy and flowers in person.

  I watch quite a bit, mainly during lunch since I am usually at work.  I don't comment too often though.

  I believe this is thread contains the most replies (20 as of this writing) from Paul I have ever seen.  Laura only has one.

  You know, it isn't very fair that Paul doesn't get to throw a nine guy at the camera.  I wonder if some one might be able to create something that would let him do that?  Something with a Kinect and maybe he can control it remotely.

  Surface for gaming?  An old man like me needs to have a larger screen so I can see.

  Things for Paul to wear?  He really should have worn a vintage looking gaming shirt for Atari.
