Are you claiming that included software doesn't add value? Was the Live Essentials suite pointless?
Apple ships iMovie and Garageband with every desktop Mac and MacBook, while Microsoft's equivalents on their premier OS are metro SoundRecorder and something called Movie Moments, which apparently gets beaten by the built-in video-edit functions of just about every digital camera.
Further evidence that Microsoft doesn't care much about anything non-tablet.
