    1st idea: "Machinima"

    (From Wikipedia)

Machinima (a portmanteau word for machine cinema or machine animation) is both a collection of associated production techniques and a film genre (film created by such production techniques).

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machinima

It just hit me that it would be cool to have an episode devoted to Machinima.

Of course, Machinima has been popular in videogames, such as Halo (Red vs. Blue), The Sims 2 (The Strangerhood), Quake, World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, The Movies and yes, even Second Life =)

And another example of Machinima is MTV's Video Mods.

Check out the Wikipedia URL, above for LOTS of more info and links.

Here are a couple of other Machinima info sites, if you're interested:

    http://www.machinima.com/

    2nd idea: "Internet Phenomenon" topics:

    "Internet Phenomenon"-Web Comics/Sprite comics/ Flash Cartoons...

Someone mentioned Penny Arcade the other day on here and I've been thinking about the idea of possibly, having an episode (maybe, an "Internet Phenomenon") about web comics/sprite comics/flash cartoons (Homestar Runner, PVP, 8-Bit Theater, etc).

    Might be fun.

    Tour ideas:

I'd be interested to see what's going on at one of the local, film/video production houses (such as Digital Kitchen).

There are many, small (yet, rapidly growing) multimedia, internet, film/video companies out here, in WA.

I bet you wont have much trouble finding one that would be interested in having an episode devoted to them.

If you're interested, here's a site that lists every production company in the Northwest:

    "Today in Tech" idea

Ok, I'm not sure if this would work for "Today in Tech", since I don't know if the producers want it to be totally fun and silly and non-"news-like"...but, maybe, they could do skits of the news stories. Making the news more fun, by not just reading the news and having us seeing the articles, but make it more visually entertaining (not exactly like SNL's "Weekend Report", though).

But, if the producers don't want the segment to be to silly, I understand and won't argue my idea.

You're focusing on people who use technology to help the world. Yet here is Bill Gates, ridiculing an effort to bring computers to the third world. He says, and I quote:
"The last thing you want to do for a shared use computer is have it be something without a disk ... and with a tiny little screen," Gates said at the Microsoft Government Leaders Forum in suburban Washington."

Ehm, computers without disks, can anyone say X-Box 360?

1.)  If 10 is truly "a place for people who want to use technology to change the world" then I suggest spotlighting those that fall into that category but are seen by many as anarchists.
We all know the touchy subject illegal downloading has become, but with all the uber popular sites out there with millions of users I've never seen anyone get a insight from the people behind the sites so many people view as "Internet Pirates" Arg.
With the most recent crackdown and new lawsuits by the MPAA and RIAA on popular torrent sites such as http://www.torrentspy.com & http://thepiratebay.org .
I for one would be very interested in their views on the subject, as I am sure many others would be as well were they not afraid of prosecution by speaking up.

    1.)  continued

I mean Pirate Bay's "legal threats" page alone is worth covering, if not alone that here is a group that believed so much in what they were doing that they moved their operation to Sweden to insure they are able to continueunabated.
Not to mention their loyal users who at every opportunity contribute funds to keep the place running and to acquire new servers.
A recent contestant on a Swedish game show vowed he would donate 20% of his budget to The Pirate Bay upon winning the prize money of $31,500, and upon winning he kept his word and donated $6,211.
More over a recent Ebay auction for a chance to hang out with the crew that runs the site sold for $8,100.
Which did not even include airfare.

Of course I am not sure if a subject such as this you are able to consider due to legalities.

2.)  It might be nice to see another "Internet Phenomenon's" episode however to me they should attempt to cover only the most recent, unlike the "Leeroy" video which while funny to this day is quite dated.
As far as the different ones V360 suggested most of those I have seen and aren't really worth covering, besides the "Star Wars Kid" clip was or still is pending litigation from the family so I don't know the issues involved in showing it.
The most recent and growing in popularity everyday is the "Juggernaut" dubbed video pulled from the classic X-men cartoon from the 90's.

    http://www.wimp.com/juggernaut
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QXUXQ8miHs

I find it extremely funny as you can tell the people that dubbed over it were having fun and from watching the show when I was little it's funny to see it almost in a brand new way.
It does contain some mild language.

3.)  I agree with V360's tour idea but instead would love to see spotlights on the websites and people behind them I love plus many others do as well, such as.

Red Vs Blue - www.redvsblue.com  (Truly made even non Halo fans love the game, they also do a great F.E.A.R. parody now)

Penny Arcade - www.penny-arcade.com  (consistently one of the better written strips in recent years plus their charity work is amazing)

VG Cats - www.vgcats.com  (like PA it has truly become an internet classic)

Don't Link This - http://www.dontlinkthis.com  (this guy has needed to be interviewed for the longest time)

The Superficial - http://www.thesuperficial.com  (some of the funniest things I have ever read)

Maddox - http://maddox.xmission.com  (I shouldn't even have to explain this one)

I don't know if your show will be covering videogame developers (I would really like to see a Bungie tour =), but here's a website called, "Seattle Sputnik", which lists EVERY game developer in the state:

    http://www.igda.org/seattle/index.htm

Finally, for a future (out of state) show...I think it would be awesome if there was an episode about Rooster Teeth Productions (near Austin, Texas), who of course, created "Red vs Blue."

Alright, I'm caught in a brain-storm and it just hasn't let go...

Now, I don't know of any specific companies or people, but it would be nice to see some stories about new medical advances in WA (maybe visit a local hospital):

Technology to help manage those with disabilities, diseases (new medical equipment, methods of operation, new ways of using existing technology, which are being introduced, or talked about in WA).

How technology is being used to entertain patients with disabilities and diseases.

New medicines that scientists/doctors in WA are thinking about, or at least, experimenting with to help patients.

New types of mobility, other than wheelchairs or scooters. Maybe, the next "Segway."

Someone in WA that has come up with new inventions, or methods to help the medical field.

You could do a Segment on the PC game, the Movies. It's an extremely powerful way to make custom movies (besides being a great Sim game) and there are some really great user-created movies out there. A Stunts & Effects expansion pack was just announced, so that should result in even more greatness.

Comment Scrollbar Feature and "Edit Comments"

I support the scrollbar feature that Rohan and Erik mentioned in Rohan's "Feature Request" comment on the Aura page.

Right now, there is alot of negative space on the home page.

I understand the website is new and that it will probably go under some changes in the future.

Maybe, have some more 10 content, such as articles (technology headlines?) and other readable material (maybe, extra stuff about the show and the 10 team, etc).

I'll try to brain-storm some other ideas for the comments/video.

Finally, I'd just like to request an option for us to edit our comments. That would be such a helpful feature.

Thank you for taking the time to read our suggestions.
