Gilt.com is an invitation-only website that provides luxury goods to members at insider prices with spectacular noon time sales. Using IE9 features such as notifications on a task bar, site pinning and dynamic jump lists to enhance the sites' functionality for users, Chris is very pleased with the results. Thanks to IE9, customers can get to products easier, shop more efficiently and grab deals faster. How long did it take Gilt to implement the IE9 features? About a week. Chris currently serves as Vice President of Product Management for Gilt Groupe, the innovative online shopping destination. Gilt, the first shopping site of its kind, offers special access to the most inspiring merchandise and experiences every day, specializing in getting its members insider prices.Prior to joining Gilt, Chris was Director of Product Management for Personalization at Netflix. Before that he was the Vice President of Product Management of Vuze, and prior to that the Senior Global Product Manager for eBay. Before eBay, Chris was co-founder and Senior Architect for V2 Group, a leading provider of product strategy and design services for clients including Intuit, Inktomi, and Seagate. Chris was also the co-founder and Director of the Interactive Services division of USWeb/CKS, responsible for defining the first ecommerce experiences for Levi's, Dockers, Harley-Davidson, and Logitech. Chris holds a BS in Symbolic Systems ' Human-Computer Interaction from Stanford University and has completed coursework at The Wharton School of Business.
Clark Sell ' Senior Developer Evangelist, Microsoft Corp. Name a role in the software industry, and Clark has probably played it. He started as a Y2K tester and has since worked as a developer, lead, "build monkey," solutions architect and product manager. His professional sweet spot however, lies in designing and building software solutions that make life easier – there's no chance for boredom and constant opportunities for growth. Clark is MCSD certified and received top Microsoft honors with the Circle of Excellence Award. He's a graduate of Western Illinois University and before joining Microsoft in 2005, he served as a solutions architect at Allstate Insurance Company. As a senior developer evangelist and Visual Studio team system ranger, Clark brings a good dose of humor and a zest for life to the podium.
