Join Tim Huckaby and Tony Gerena, Clinical Dev. Director at Greenway Medical as they discuss the software solutions that Greenway Medical has created within the healthcare space. Tony discusses software they created that allows physicians to run their practice in an outpatient setting and how Microsoft Expression SketchFlow was used in the proof of concept stage. Additionally, Tony created a Windows Phone 7 app that allows physicians to refill prescriptions and message patients when they are away from their office. They also have utilized WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) to expose the functionality that's native within their PrimeSUITE software and created an API which allows vendors and partners to build plug-ins, mobile apps, or health services on top of this platform. Tony joined Greenway Medical over 10 years ago as a Senior Developer before being promoted to Director. His current responsibilities include managing a team of over 20 developers in four product and service areas. He oversees clinical projects for our PrimeSUITE flagship Electronic Health Record, Public/Private WCF API services, Cross Platform Mobile Apps and PrimeSUITE community data sharing. Primary technologies used are ASP.Net, DHTML, WCF, Silverlight, SQL 2008, Windows Azure, SQL Azure. When not at work Tony likes to spend time with his wife and three children. He enjoys travelling, gardening, video games, reading and trying new technologies.

Tim founded InterKnowlogy, a custom application development company, in 1999 and Actus Interactive Software in 2011 and has over 30 years of experience including serving on a Microsoft product team as a development lead on an architecture team on a Server Product. Tim is a Microsoft Regional Director, a Microsoft MVP and serves on many Microsoft councils and boards like the Microsoft .NET Partner Advisory Council.
