Technical Fellow John Shewchuk and Principal Group Manager Dennis Pilarinos explain the past, present and future of the Azure's .NET Services. John and Dennis are the orginal thinkers behind .NET Services. They started this project a few years ago. The
services layer on top of Windows Azure is rife with functionality and wide open for innovation. It's a brave new world, my friends. Get ready to get your hands dirty. This is great stuff!

Hi Charles, I would love to see a cloud specific show, maybe have John, Dennis as regulars. You could even call it "cloud7"
posted by Apogeum

Great information and thanks John & Dennis.

I am very much excited on this technology. I had registered in
www.azure.com and I have installed azure SDK to work on some sample (ASP.NET Hello world sample) but whenever I try to create host service none of the services are availble there. I noticed the below message.

Register for Services*
*Due to pre-release CTP status, you may be temporarilyplaced on a waiting list for certain services.

Also I noticed that, under the "Account" section in the site, I need to put Resource Token ID and need to claim the token. But I haven't recieved any email with that information.

Any body know how I can get host services to work on some samples ?

<del>Please try to keep the audio volume at a normalized level as best you can. The audio dropped out for me, and this is one of the most interesting topics for me. It's really hard to watch, thanks!</del>

That is some exciting stuff coming, I hope they can get this out soon. As I see it the only problem is that this is a vision of the future. I just hope that we can use the Service Bus soon.

Edit:
The volume was fine the 2nd time I watched, something wrong with my machine at the time.
I also just got my invite code, I can't wait to start playing with it.

posted by crashnull
