"Julia is a high-level, high-performance dynamic programming language for technical computing, with syntax that is familiar to users of other technical computing environments. It provides a sophisticated compiler, distributed parallel execution, numerical accuracy, and an extensive mathematical function library." - julialang.org
Here, we meet two members of the Julia design team - Stefan Karpinski and Jeff Bezanson - to get a casual peek inside Julia (why a new language, what makes it special, why "Julia" for the name, etc...). You can (and should!) watch Stefan and Jeff's Lang.NEXT 2012 session for more details (and more formality).
Tune in.
