Interestingly though it sounds like all the people in the first 5 minutes all speak different languages...
I haven't watch the last 2 minutes of the video ...
It would be an interesting stat to the radio of foreign/local employees at MS
The big question is, whill SpeechServer recongnize the English being spoken by these three?
Very cool!!!
Are you also going to support other languages for the TTS and Speech Recognition? We would need Dutch for our applications.
Nice video!
I'd like to know what are the languages that are in the pipeline. In the video something has been said about new languages to be added later as well as a methodology to add more languages by third parties.
Could you please let us know what are these new languages and when will they be available.
In our company, management seems to have chosen Nuance and Some O.S VXML browser. The main reason we have not opted for Microsoft S.S is the lack of supported languages. It is crucial for us to support as many european languages as possible (and even more languages like Chinese and Arabic...).
Please, help me make a point for M.S.S!
Support more languages an provide some time-frame, roadmap, ...[A]
Thank you in advance.
Keep it up.
The beta program is now closed for public (Over subscriptions). However, if you are still interested we have the JumpStart program which is targeted at ISVs and MSFT Partners.
Please email mssjump@microsoft.com for more information.

Answering the big question,

Yes! Speech Server is indeed able to understand all the dialects. We also have a diffrent language pack to handle UK English.
HTH!

PS:
MSS works like a charm for all three of us!
Thanks Stacey!
We have the MSS 2007 (beta) Developer edition which allows you to develop on your laptop/workstation. The development is supported on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Std/Ent. You will need Visual Studio 2005 with Windows workflow foundation installed.
Once developed, you can deploy and test your speech application from the same machine(by either calling the server with a Softphone/Actual phone, or use the integrated debugger with just a mic and a headset). We have enabled the use of 2 ports on Dev edition. So in essence, it will behave exactly like the Server with port limitations.
HTH!
Thanks!

Any plans for other languages. Meaning other than the first 5 languages.
Any plans to have Dutch, Italian, Sweedish, French (France), ...etc.
Keep it up.
Perfect answer I was hoping for. Thanks!!!

My question:
Does the MSS 2007 (now in the OCS) provide or plan any third party telephony product connection points for integration purposes? E.g., could companies which have already invested in conventional IVR/self-service applications utilize the power of the MSS 2007 (speech side). I am not talking about VoiceXML, but specifically about the Workflow and SR/TTS features. Questions such as associating 'speech channels' with 'IVR scripts' come to mind.
Again, job well done (hope, that accuracy and performance will be as good as the architecture
My name is Khanh Nguyen. I am currently student majoring in computer science at Western Washington University. I am working on the senior project which my part is speech recognition, and speech synthesis. i am wondering if i could use the new version of the speech server for my project.
