IE9+, Firefox 4+, Chrome 5+, or Safari 4+.

Flash

For browsers that have the Adobe Flash Player plugin installed.

What does this mean?

Great video! I'm very excited about the innovation we'll see in the Sideshow space. Are there any Sideshow clients that I can load onto a normal computer? I'll be getting a Sideshow photo frame one of these days, but until then it would be nice to just set my laptop on the end table and let it show the info.

Thanks, this is definitely a space we are going to see explode as new devices come out

For showing your content on a laptop/PC I guess you could just run the simulator (lower your resolution all the way to make it fill more of the screen). Sorry, I am not aware of actual PC client SideShow renderers.

I agree there is tremendous potential with SideShow to bring info and data beyond the desktop and laptop expanding the vista experience. Unfortunately I think MS has fallen extremely short here.

The software just isn't where it needs to be and the elusive devices that the whole strategy is based on is not there.

JR, thank you for posting to the forums, because that is where generic SideShow discussions belong (this thread here is only about my specific video). I hope that the reply you got there renews your interest in SideShow.

Great article Daniel,

I only have one question,
I am new to programming and i'm stuck at registering the GUID into the registry...
Is that a permissions problem?
I get an error "ArgumentException was unhandled" Gadget GUID (6700ee86-65556-....) not in registry

must be corporated with compact C#.
