In case you’ve missed the news, CES is going to be full of announcements from Microsoft. While it may seem like we’ve had sparse updates during the holiday week, it’s really just a sleeper for what is coming. We’ve pre-produced a number of segments on code names that I don’t dare breathe outside of the Microsoft campus. And while we’ve been scooped on some of them, there are still plenty of secrets yet to be revealed.
Of course, we’ll be walking the floor looking for cool new gadgets and gizmos and will let you know about the best that we find. I’ll also be using my cell phone to post photos in real time, so stay tuned for CES on Channel 10.

New bigger harddrive for 360 maybe? hmm?
IPTV at long last for 360? hmmm?
Breaking news on the rumoured 360 handheld? hmmmm?
*Le Yawn. I doubt there is anything being shown at CES 2007 that is likely to roq the soqs off a comatose 360 gamer (since some of the better games due last year were shunted to 2007) nothing hardwarewise is bound to impress anyone.

Bigger HD is necessary with all the movie and tv show downloads. I just wonder how they'll handle moving your saves and all that over to the new HD. Memory card?

This is a must a some point, the question is when will it hit retail? There will be another hard drive more than likely, one that is far larger, and hopefully affordable - as in not half the cost of the system in the first place. And maybe we will hear something about it at CES.

A larger HD is a must now. My big concern is whether or not we'll be able to transfer data from one to the other. Microsoft pretty much failed half the backwards compatibility attempt because we have no way of copying data from the original Xbox to the 360 without investing in a few pricey outside peripherals and a PC to manage it. Even after that, it was still a headache.

Should be able to repurpose any existing hdd you may have laying around for use as attached storage for 360 (just need a case for it, and interconnect (eSATA for instance). I.E. MS could just release an official empty HDD case and the user provides the drive(s)).
360 has a format function. Problem is the file system isn't secure. MS needs to work on that. Attached storage that you can format using the system blade such that the file system is only readable by the console and gamertag that formated it.
