Everywhere a touch surface

QSI Corporation has come up with a way to make almost any surface a touch sensitive interface, reports Technabob. This can include surfaces like wood, rock, and glass. The technology, called InfiniTouch, can also calculate the force on the Z-axis so the intensity of the touch is determined.

The application can be applied to curved or irregular surfaces and are capable of use in indoor and outdoor environments. With output of 200 pps (points per second), the surface can also be used for signature capture.

This is going to great for designers, who can now use their imaginations to create beautiful and non-intuitive control surfaces that will both awe and confuse us all.
