The Channel 10 team is finally here in Las Vegas and so far I haven't talked to a single person who didn't go through a Tower of Terror moment while landing in Vegas. Our own Nic Fillingham (welcome to the team, Nic!) came from Singapore and due to weather problems in LA got a chance to spend an extra 13 hours checking email and twittering. It almost makes us feel guilty about hazing him this week (I bet we'll get over that by Friday.)
We've got a full schedule here checking out some of the coolest Microsoft-related stuff with a lot of special interviews and videos coming. But we're leaving Wednesday wide open for you, if you see something that you want more info on or you hear of something cool at CES that you'd like to see, leave us a comment and we'll try to take a look.

Would like to hear what the "mood on the floor" is with regard to the future of Microsoft/Toshiba's HD-DVD now that Warners have dropped the bomb that they're going Blu-Ray exclusive.
The high def forums are being swamped with lamentations and endless debate. Even the HD-DVD fan boys see this as the beginning of the end and the Toshiba statement issued in reaction to Warner's announcement indicates that this came as a total surprise to other HD-DVD forum members and that they're still reeling from the blow. The subsequent cancellation of the planned press briefing from the HD-DVD forum gives no confidence to those of that went red rather than blue and now feel that "red is dead".
Have Microsoft made any formal statement, and what's the general feeling on the floor (or is high def such a niche market that nobody's interested anyway?)

RE: #1 comment:: This is sure an interesting start to CES...
I have my eyes and ears open watching this and would love to see Ch10 follow though with their take on what's cool at CES. I have no requests...just show us the most mind blowing NEW stuff you see that you think relates/tops/beats anything you discuss in the last 6 months on home automation/home server/pc enthusiast/geek toys/ and so on.

Very interesting indeed. We're back from interviewing both Robbie Bach and Bill Gates (seperate interviews) that we will have up tonight around 6:30 pm pacific standard time.
Its really a fun event, so many cool things. We'll be covering all sorts of stuff at CES here on Channel 10, not just the Microsoft stuff.
It will be a lot of fun.
