Blogout 2007 happened on May 24th (I know, I know this post is late) at Geek Terminal here in Singapore and I was there!
Over 120 bloggers, social community leaders, industry commentators, web developers, tech enthusiasts, flickr-a-holics, twitter-o-holics, and young entrepreneurs got together to talk tech, business, web 2.0, social media, citizen journalism and of course,.. blogging.
The who's who of the Singaporean blogger crowd was in attendance plus representatives from all the major online social networking communities
Kevin Lim,
Eastcostlife,
Joe Augustin,
Walter Lim,
Tomorrow.sg (and Founder
James Seng),
Ping.sg (and Founder
Uzyn),
Moblog (Founder: Goon Yoke Ching),
Stomp (Managing Editor: Jennifer Lewis),
Global Voices Online (SEA Editor
Pretam Rai),
SG Entrepreneurs (Bernard Leong),
Entrepreneur 27 Singapore and many, many more.
Joining me on the night were five more Microsoft-ies:
Leon Brown,
Howard Lo,
Christian Cadeo,
John Elderidge and
Kurt Messersmith.
So what did us Microsoft types do at Blogout? Well we ate, drank, chatted, swapped name cards, networked, took photos, shot video and joined in on some fantastic group discussions.
There were some Windows Vista machines available for free play use (blogging, twittering etc.), Popfly mashups and Halo 2 goodness (yep - we had a copy). We also gave away a few copies of Windows Vista Ultimate, a handful of Xbox 360 games and some USB memory keys. Freebies: Hooray!!!
Kevin "the cyborg" Lim had his
magic backback with him and was
life-casting the entire
event live. Kevin's
round up post also got
picked up by Valley Wag (featuring some of my humble photos).
My photos from the event are up on flickr and you can see the entire
public flickr photostream for Blogout here.
