How do I download the videos?
- To download, right click the file type you would like and pick “Save target as…” or “Save link as…”
Why should I download videos from Channel9?
- It's an easy way to save the videos you like locally.
- You can save the videos in order to watch them offline.
- If all you want is to hear the audio, you can download the MP3!
Which version should I choose?
- If you want to view the video on your PC, Xbox or Media Center, download the High Quality WMV file (this is the highest quality version we have available).
- If you'd like a lower bitrate version, to reduce the download time or cost, then choose the Medium Quality WMV file.
- If you have a Zune, WP7, iPhone, iPad, or iPod device, choose the low or medium MP4 file.
- If you just want to hear the audio of the video, choose the MP3 file.
Right click “Save as…”
- Mid Quality WMV (Lo-band, Mobile)
I walk you through the creation of a SQL Mobile database, how to deploy the DB with your app, how to tie into the data source, and then how to get the IDE to do the rest of the work for you

But I've hit a snag with this episode. I'm totally new to C# programming and this is my first time in VS2005 so if this is a really dumb question, apologies in advance!
After following your instructions I've got the channel9demo data app running. I enter a new record and the ID appears to remain as null. Which means that when I try to enter a second record, I get an exception. I guess that the code which you put in to handle the ID, where if the text length <1 then set it to be a new guid, doesn't seem to be firing.
In your demo, at the end where you are looking at your new record back in the data grid screen, you can also see your ID field is still null. So I'm *fairly* sure it's something to do with the approach of the demo rather than something unique to me.
I appreciate that your demo was more about showing how to talk to mobile SQL Server etc than the finer points of dataset programming, but if you could suggest a way to get this working it would be cool.
Thanks!
Whoah. OK. Good call.
I'll take a look and see why that happened the way it did.
I'll email you and post here when I have a response.
Thanks for pointing that out.
Rory,
I'm new to SQL Server and mobile device applications as well and I think I'm running into a similar problem. When I run the application in the emulator and click "New" I recieve an Exception "Cannot bind data to the datasource..."
Did you happen to ever resolve this issue? Any help would be great.
