This is a fun one. We played this to the crowd at the PDC before Eric Rudder's keynote. We did it as a thank you to all of you who come here and make Channel 9 a fun place to hang out. Sorry, the download is not available for this one. Music by Michael Lehman. Video length: 00:02:28.

Here's the videos we've posted in the past couple of weeks -- how many have you watched? Scoble's favorites are marked with an asterisk. We're gonna take a little bit of time off to recoup -- putting out 30 videos in two weeks made us a little tired but we'll be back soon with even more great videos!

Haha! That was great! I didn't get a chance to watch this at the PDC (I arrived a little late to Eric Rudder's keynote).

You guys have been doing an amazing job, especially during the last couple of weeks. Good to hear you're all taking a well-deserved break. Rest up, and keep the great content coming!

Devils: everything on Channel 9 is available as an RSS feed. Navigate to the videos page and click the little orange XML icon. That's a feed for just videos. Every piece of Channel 9 has RSS. Let me know if you can't figure it out and I'll put the URL for the feed here. And of course we use enclosures. We're all ready for the video iPod as soon as Steve Jobs does one! Wink

Here's the lyrics (awaiting the tablature):

The Ballad of the Lonely Coders

    Well we're big code slingers
    We got golden fingers
And we're loved everywhere we go
    (that sounds like us)

    We coded by Beauty
    And we coded by Truth
For ten thousand miles we drove

We got all kind of skills
That give us all kind of thrills
But the thrill that would be most fine

Is the thrill that'll get you when
    When you get your picture
On the front page of channel 9
    (channel 9)

Wanna see my picture on the front page (nine)
Wanna Vista demo out on stage (nine)
    Wanna see my smilin' face
On the front page of channel 9

I belive that the first and last part "on the cover of channel nine is a ripoff of Catptin Hooks on the cover of the rolling stone. This is cool but a little more originatly goes a long way.
  • LoadsgoodLoadsgood What is your answer?
"Video Length: 00:00:00"  (at the bottom left of the C9Team's initial post) Nice work Wink Hmmmm it also says that the initial post got 14 replies (bottom right of the initial post) when it actually got 28. It seems to be counting how many people replied to the initial post but not the total posts in this thread. On the initial post, there is no Ink Reply, next to the Reply button, Why?

Very good video, I can't believe how many people you've had on Channel 9 to do a video... Really good work C9Team Big Smile Now go have a holiday! Cool

    Holiday! Holiday! Holiday!
    Loadsgood.
  • SO COOL! Great Video.

Would love to see that Big Smile
  • One problem. Knowing Steve, it'll only run MPEG-4/MPEG-4 encapsulated in a quicktime container. So you'll have to transcode (MTP would do it automatically) or get a non-Apple video player.
  • You did a great job with this.  I laughed all the way through!  Smiley
  • ChadkChadk excuse me - do you has a flavor?
"Or barbie!... You know. God help me"

    That qoute of the year!
  • Even though I don’t visit Channel 9 as much as I should do, normally because I’m studying or blogging or even beta testing something, I do agree that this is one cool video, and has just made me promise my self that I will visit Channel 9 more often! Big Smile
