How do I download the videos?
- To download, right click the file type you would like and pick “Save target as…” or “Save link as…”
Why should I download videos from Channel9?
- It's an easy way to save the videos you like locally.
- You can save the videos in order to watch them offline.
- If all you want is to hear the audio, you can download the MP3!
Which version should I choose?
- If you want to view the video on your PC, Xbox or Media Center, download the High Quality WMV file (this is the highest quality version we have available).
- If you'd like a lower bitrate version, to reduce the download time or cost, then choose the Medium Quality WMV file.
- If you have a Zune, WP7, iPhone, iPad, or iPod device, choose the low or medium MP4 file.
- If you just want to hear the audio of the video, choose the MP3 file.
Right click “Save as…”
- Mid Quality WMV (Lo-band, Mobile)
- WMV (WMV Video)
We ran into Bert Keely, one of the visionaries behind the Tablet PC (he's an architect on the Tablet PC team), recently at dinner and he started showing us how he had souped up his Tablet PC.
"Wait, stop, let us film this," we said. And here's the resulting video.
He's the fastest Tablet PC user we've met. Do you know anyone who can work faster with a pen?
He's showing off some of the features of the new Tablet PC 2005 Edition (which ships with Windows XP Service Pack 2).
Oh, and yes, we want to know what the secret is to getting a Tablet PC manufacturer to give you a better screen. We guess that's one advantage of being an architect on the Tablet PC team!

Bert Keely's tips are good. What other Tablet mods have you seen?

I was just curious about installing WindowsXP TabletPC edition on VAIO U70.

Wow he's fast! Any idea how long he's been working with tablets?
He's been on the Tablet PC team since the very beginning, but has been working on pen-based computers for even longer. We're going to try to get a more formal interview with him and we'll ask how he got into pen-based computing.
I'm curious how many people are interested in Tablet mods. We've been talking about a Tablet Event for pre-CES time period and have Tablet mods listed as a session. Anyone interested, please feel free to add ideas to the Channel9 Tablet PC Event wiki.
I tried to watch the video, but it isn't working for me. It says that there is a problem with the network settings. I am able to play Windows Media files from other sites, though. Am I doing something wrong? I'd really like to see this video!
Can you play it from this link? mms://wm.microsoft.com/ms/msnse/0408/23062/Bert_Keely/Bert_Keely_56K_110K_300K.wmv
How are you connected to the Internet?
Yes, I have WMP 9. I couldn't seem to play it from the link you posted, but when I changed the protocol to http:// instead of mms://, it worked... weird!
Thanks for the help!
All the video downloads are available here, though: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results.aspx?productID=&freetext=Channel+9&DisplayLang=en
