Fun video. I love seeing how TV production is done... This is rarly shown because they tend to focus more on the actors or special effects. I find this stuff way more interesting.

How can Microsoft make this many shows? Excluding C9 and the MSDN thing I can't name a single other media show I've seen my Microsoft ever...

I agree - this was really neat.  Well, there are shows that end up inside products (Windows Media, Windows XP, etc.) as well as the MS Hardware (Halo, other XBOX stuff) and more.

Neat side of MS and great guy to present it. 

Was the (sound?) post-production cut off the video? There was a jump in the video at that point I think.

I wonder if Scoble has his own green room, you know, the kind with a star on the door.

It would be interesting to see how many of the TV shows you would recognize only by the layout pictures they have on the wall.

I used to work for Turner studios in Atlanta and one time we had an all night install so I got to hang out in the studios when the NBA playoffs were going on.  It was great watching EVERY camera shot of the basketball games at the same time.

It is nearly impossible to find/locate/retrieve Microsoft video materials from my experience. I don't think MS studios even has a public website or a way of contacting the studios directly to look for information.

The video didn't cover much of substance I was hoping to learn more about the Your Potential Our Passion videos, the MSDN Show, and whether the Longhorn concept videos(shown at PDC) were in fact created at MS studios.
 
I doubt Gary could talk publically about the process but is MS studios in fact responsible for the video work related to the yearly Microsoft spoofs invovling Gates/Balmer?

MS studios does tons of video work across the company and whether I'm at a MBS presentation or a MSDN event I always see great videos but when I try to locate the videos/resources(or ask my Microsoft contacts to locate them) no-one has any idea if a catalog even exists to search for the materials--I'd bet Gary would know.

Seeing how even Scoble doesn't have security clearance into MS Studio you can only begin to imagine the Area 51 type security vault they keep the videos in.

Are the studios housed in Building 21?

   Did you notice that Bob never really answered what the red light was for, he just mentioned that the room was used for "DriveTime" sales reports.  There are certainly rooms just as important as this room in MS Studios.  Earlier in the video Bob is whispering in one of the studios while work is going on, but there is no red light.   Certainly, if red lights were an indication of something "in production"  then there would have been one here.  Now go to about 24:04 on the video, the videographer (sorry didn't catch name) asks "What is with the red light in the middle of the hallway?," and Bob just chuckles, but no real respone, he just goes on to explain what the room is for.  Now go to 24:47 exactly and you will see a the back of a man with oragish hair, a maroon sweeter of a dress shirt and what appears to be an Xbox travel bag of some sort.  I believe the reason for the red light is because that person is Bill Gates.  The red light means do not interupt!!!!
