The newest SmartPhones come with the .NET Compact Framework, so we wondered just how different it'd be developing applications for the SmartPhone vs. a desktop PC.

Plus Neil says you can try building apps without even buying a new cell phone, and gives some tips that you'll need to think about.

Anyone try building a SmartPhone application yet? We'd love to see yours.

I have a few ideas that I am starting to design for the smart phone devices. I have to admit that in the beginning I was not very impressed with the smart phones but I have seen that I have had to change my thinking and view of the world. The days of
thinking in a window or a browser are gone and for the better. I will post ideas as they get flushed out but I am trying to help the user with driving and weather. Hope they work out.

Neil -- What are the web resources you mentioned in the interview? A blog for smart phones? anything else you would have a person check out to get 100% up to speed on the small devices? Thanks
posted by cwoodruff
