In this video Vladimir Rovinsky, lead program manager on the Photo Story team, demonstrates Photo Story for us.
In another early look at Photo Story 3, Sean Alexander blogged about it and Paul Thurrott has a review about it.
Why don't you try it and let us know your experiences here?
In another video we posted today you can hear more from the team that built Photostory.

One thing you guys should consider putting into the program is a mood/season/background feature; xmas is coming and it would be nice to select a background on which the clip is overlayed.
.. also when selecting music one should be allowed to browse by play list or genre.

I have written an article and posted to my site:
http://www.updatexp.com/microsoft-photo-story-3.html
I am also thinking of doing more software "demo" style videos like the one at the end
of this article:

It's just soooo....... easy to do in PS3!

Props to the Photo Story team for creating a great little product.
For DVD NTSC, most products including Movie Maker use 720x480, your product is suggesting 640x480. Which, when converted by my DVD Authoring software, creates a stretching effect to fit 720x480.
In the near future, might a new profile with 720x480 can be made available for DVD NTSC?
Thanks!
I tried Photo Story and I like it. I started watching the demo first, but just jumped in and had a story going pretty quick. Nice Interface.
I emailed my stories to somebody though and they couldn't be played because a codec needed to be installed. This was on XP. I would have expected a box to pop up and a simple "Yes" answer would have downloaded and installed the codec.

This is one of the biggest problems with most slide-show applications.
Actually, are you sure that you're doing this right? I get a little "talk bubble" icon near each slide I record a narration for. Synching is easy because i have a separate one for each slide. I can even re-record or delete a specific narration.

That was a great demo. However the Latin Tropical music isn't. That is more like music from the English speaking islands, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Jamaica, etc.
Over all I like the product.
