Amazon and
Microsoft are teaming up to make it easier for independent filmmakers to distribute their movies on High Definition DVD's. These types of partnerships mean great opportunities for creative people. Not long ago it was prohibitively expensive to buy cameras and editing workstations, so becoming an independent filmmaker meant you needed to be related to a Coppola (no offense to Sophia and Nic Cage). This concept will use Amazons CustomFlix DVD-On-Demand technology. The technology cuts down the costly inventory requirements and allows for the production and shipment of DVDs as soon as they are ordered online. The DVDs will be formatted in Microsoft's VC-1 video codec format. Get the whole

Wanna sell HDDVDs?
How about making 360 games using HDDVD?
And GFW games for that matter?
And like using you know DX10 for *any* Microsoft Game Studios projects... D: (I can't name a particular one.. maybe Zoo Tycoon 4 or FSXI (if it is even scheduled for production before MMXI).. maybe Marathon IV if Bungie is done toying with consoles..?)
It's not like Halo 3 uses DX10.. or will this decade or that it would matter even if it did because it would never LOOK like it did...
"These types of partnerships mean great opportunities for creative people." (the way you say it makes it sound like a completely alien concept.)
Can I take that as an admission that there simply aren't any forward creative types at MS on the gaming side of software dev? looking at Ubisoft and it's CG studio.... why doesn't MS have a CG studio? *pokes cheek.
