not too convinced about the whole password mind control thing... at least not any time in the near future. [RANT]ALSO Wii is the dumbest name to be bestoyed upon a gaming platform ever... EVER! Gamecube was a cool name, it made sense... Wii is the sound you make when you are sliding down a water slide at the age of 3... or 4... i can't remember..... in any case, it sees like nintendo is bent on heading on down to hell in a handbasket. It's like their doing it in slow motion, it's kinda painful to watch and at the same time your wondering how much does it actually take to regress this gaming giant back into the playing card makers they once were..... Don't get me wrong, the nintendo brand is one to be respected but it seems misguided right about now....[/RANT]

They really screwed the pooch on this one, they should've just stuck w/ Revolution. Nintendo has been so behind so I don't anticipate this thing doing well when it's released. I can't wait to laugh at this thing in person next week! ha.

I dunno about you, but if losing BILLIONS of dollars on hardware (not just talking about the 360) means you're in front, making a profit and being 'behind' sounds good to me.

These "Today in Tech" segments are probably my favorite.  While the news is old, just seeing you girls together talking about tech is great and really reminds me of all the great work you've done together.  Not only do you read the news well, but you put alot of your humor into it along with style.  Thanks...it's always a pleasure to watch the two of you do your thing.

The government believes piracy is worse than child pornography because we live in a country where everything revolves around economic policy, regretfully.  Business interests are always the most important factor in this country.  Piracy deprives companies of their ability to rip-off the public...and that is simply unacceptable in the United States.

I'm hoping the name change is a publicity stunt which will later actually be the acronym for name of their new controller, which i suppose could be "Wireless interactive interface" *shrug*... Even if i owned a *sigh*Wii, i wouldn't tell anybody about it... I'd also be ashamed to by Wii-games (me Wii-lass...lol sorry got carried away)... unless of course they added a "d" to it.... then at least it would sound cool. "YEAH, I got Wiid at home" then when you get pissed off at it and must throw it out the window for overly frustrating and obtuse gameplay you could say, "I smoked my Wiid"...

Arztek, true...we'll definitely remember it and that is important in marketing, but I think its biggest downfall is that you have to explain to people what it means.  I've already messaged a lot of friends and asked them what they thought about it.  They ALL said, it was weird and asked what it meant.  Without going to their website and seeing the little animation, how are you supposed to know what the "ii" is for?  THAT, IMHO, is not good marketing.

How bout a story on how to get an awesome tan using sun tanning technology.... You could fly on down to south beach and one of you could catch some rays while the other uses high tech sun tanning technology at a tanning salon. I could be a guest on the show and we could all go out for some mimosas (champagne & OJ for the uninitiated) by the beach and I'd guess which one had the natural tan..... It'd be great... Then i'd wake up.

Although you are right, I really don´t think Nintendo need attention for this given product.... it´s not like half the world isn´t already waiting to see what it offers. They aren´t selling vacum cleaners, if you know what I mean. Personally, I believe they maybe felt " Revolution" didn´t fit in with their philosophy and have opted to find a name that is more akin to the people who usually play on Nintendo based systems. Afterall, their target audience is slightly younger than the Xbox or PS2 crowd.Therefore I guess it´s a marketing manouvere aimed at attracting a certain age group.... I just hope it doesn´t backfire on them.

hmmm.  I don't think "Wii" has to mean anything.  Look at the iPod, it's a huge success with an unusual name.  Let the product sell the name, not vice-versa.  I'm still at a loss for what the 360 means after xbox 360..?

Everything has to mean something.  Isn't that the point of a name?

iPod is more indirect and artsy, but that's what Apple does a lot.  It's a little pod.  A pod that holds things (since that's what pods do).  The "i" is from all their other products.

I must admit that I didn't get what the 360 meant at first either, but it's something I could figure out on my own with some thought.  I didn't have to watch a video to explain it to me and 360 is a normal (geometry) term.  Wii is nothing (except maybe another language, but I wouldn't know). 

I guess I'm just complaining because it's made up and only half of it means something for real..."We", like all of us.  I shouldn't have to watch a video to figure out what the heck the "ii" thing is.  Honestly, I would've pronounced it "why", like "wi-fi" if I hadn't watched their flash animation.  They did leave me remembering their name, but not for any good reason.  IMHO, negative publicity is just barely better than not much publicity at all.

Im surprised Morgan and Adam, and even Kevin arent gone...  Adam and Morgan made a crack on at least one show about the stupidity of adding the man show to the line up... and it didnt seem like they were happy.  Now even Kristin Holt (sp?) is gone??? and I mustve missed when Sarah Lane left AOTS... that show is just a drinking fest full of clipshows anyway.

I'd give just about anything I own to go.  I put in my application three months ago, but got turned down! *cries rampantly*  I've been searching for another way and haven't found any positive leads.  I really really wanted to go this year.  I've never been to E3 before and it seems like fate is determined to **** with me whenever I want to go.  If there was a way...I'd go...money and hotel considerations be damned!
