Microsoft partner ProModel creates software to help business solve complex problems. In this video, ProModel Product Manager Kevin Jacobson talks with ISV Architect Evangelist Bruce Kyle about how ProModel's Enterprise Portfolio Simulator extends Microsoft Project to help project managers analyze project portfolios.
Kevin explains how the team migrated from a traditional thick client application to a more client server application. He demonstrates how Silverlight and ASP.NET are used to help users create "What if" scenarios. What if I applied more resources? What if I could delay a project?
ProModel uses Silverlight as a rich user interface into simulations built on top of Project Server without changing the underlying projects. Users also visualize quickly view simulations across an entire portfolio of projects.
ProModel's Enterprise Portfolio Simulator is built on Windows Server 2008 R2 with a user interface migrating from ASP.NET to Silverlight.
Enterprise Portfolio Simulator is based on ProModel’s powerful leading-edge simulation technology combined with a new, web-browser based approach that is 100% online accessible to team members across an organization. The Enterprise Portfolio Simulator environment connects directly to Microsoft Project Server on a project-by-project basis that you determine, or can be populated directly through its own customizable interface without relying on another system. Merging data from Microsoft Project Server is quick and easy using a strategic roll-up feature that allows you to import detailed project files in a summarized, high-level structure, all while maintaining a link to the project plans for continual updates.
On Enterprise Portfolio Simulator (EPS) you will also find a brief video and also a downloadable brochure. This product is in its early stages of deployment with customers, so we don’t have any approved customer case studies yet, but we may have one shortly.
ProModel has been a leading provider of Predictive Analytic Simulation Software Solutions for 20 years, to help companies MAKE BETTER DECISIONS FASTER. ProModel has been selected as a finalist for the 2010 Microsoft Partner Award in the Information Worker Solutions, Visio Partner of the Year award category.
