Ebay Launches IE8 Webslice for Holiday Shopping

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, online auction site eBay has announced they’re partnering with Microsoft to launch a special Internet Explorer web slice for finding the best daily deals. Web slices, features unique to the IE8 browser, allow sites to create special buttons that display fresh, live-updating content with just a click of the mouse.

In eBay’s case, their new “Daily Deals” web slice will showcase some of eBay’s hottest products which are selling for discounted rates.

In addition, an eBay Search Accelerator is being made available which incorporates eBay search into IE8’s search box. With this, you can search eBay from any website on the net, without having to leave the page you’re on.

Both of these tools as well as a visual search feature are bundled into a specialized version of the IE8 browser available here for download: http://ie8.ebay.com. Alternately, you can download them as standalone components from the IE8 add-ons gallery here.
