Microsoft Tag technology, the machine readable colorful barcode which can be used to link to any info on the web, is now coming to the printed page in Woman’s Day magazine. Starting with the May 2010 issue, the Tags will be used to link to sweepstakes, recipes, coupons and more, according to Nadia Aly on the Microsoft Tag blog.
After the May issue, the July, September and November 2010 issues will also include Tags. It appears the Tags are being used in advertisements, not articles as Women’s Day VP Carlos Lamadrid is quoted as saying the tags will enable the magazine’s “readers to connect directly with our advertisers’ creative.”
To get the Microsoft Tag reader for your phone, download it from http://gettag.mobi via your mobile browser.
