The über-popular price comparison application ShopSavvy, which originally made its debut on Android, is now on its way to other platforms, including Windows Mobile. For those not familiar with this application, the idea is simple. When you’re out and about doing some shopping, you can use your smartphone’s camera to scan the UPC barcode of any product. The app then searches the internet for the best prices for that item so you can see if you’re getting a deal or if you would save money by shopping elsewhere. What’s even better is that the app can offer you price comparisons from both online shops and other local stores. You can also read reviews, save items to a wish list, or configure price-drop alerts.
Initially, the Windows Mobile application will be available for all 6.5 phones and eventually, it will be made available for all 6.1-7.0 devices. Stay tuned to the company’s blog for release details.
