Earlier this week, Skype released a beta app for users of Windows Mobile devices. The app, the Windows Mobile 2.5 beta, brings the VOIP capabilities of the popular desktop software to Windows Mobile smartphones and Pocket PCs. In the new application, you'll find tabs at the bottom of the screen which let you perform the usual Skype functions: start an IM session, see missed calls and IMs, change your status, and place a call. The mobile application lets you make free Skype-to-Skype calls and offers free instant messaging. If you need to call people on their mobile or landline, you'll need to use
Skype Credit or a buy a
subscription. (Although, we should remind you that you already have a way to do that – the phone). The application is available as a free download. To get started, just connect your device to your PC then visit this page:
