If you’re still running the free Windows 7 Beta Operating System, your time is running out. In only a matter of days – up until July 1st, to be precise – the Windows Beta OS will begin shutting itself down every other hour. That’s right, time-bomb ahead! But don’t worry, you don’t have to be without an OS - you just need to upgrade. You have until August 15th to go grab the code for the latest and greatest version of Windows 7, the RC aka “release candidate” (or Build 7100 as it’s also known). To get a key for this new version of 7, head over to this page on TechNet and choose the appropriate download.
Once you’ve got the bits, remember that you’re advised to do a fresh install of the OS. That means backing up your data and settings and starting from scratch. If you absolutely can’t do that for some reason, there is a workaround, but it’s not recommended, so proceed at your own risk.

This weekend I bit the bullet and installed the RC build. It went smoother than I expected. Does anyone know if the final shipped release will require a fresh install as well?

i dont believe it does but its better to do so.
i LOVE how can you can now drop files into folders without having to drag the folder window so that there is free space to drop it into.

I'm waiting on the OEM version of 7 ultimate, does anyone know what that's going to go for?
