Are you a developer looking to build a Silverlight application using the New York Times API? Well, now you can. The
New York Times Silverlight Kit has just become an Open Source project distributed under the
MS-PL license. If you’re not familiar with what this kit does, it’s something that you can add into a Visual Studio or Expression Blend Silverlight 2 project to get easy access to the New York Times APIs for Articles, Best Sellers (books), the US Congress, Movie Reviews, Community Comments, Times Tags, and more. You can check out a demo of the kit
here or see an application built using the kit
here. The app is called “Artist Explorer” and it lets you research musicians using the NY Times API as well as Billboard and Best Buy.
