You are brave people, giving Laura such an expensive and delicate piece of equipment.

She broke the color on the camera for a while there..

We live on the edge
This was a great segment, Duncan. I liked some of the camera shots of Laura filming. That camera looked a little bulky. What was Laura's logic for switching between desaturated (b&w) and color shots? Never use in camera effects! All that is done in the editing process.
Anyway, How does the Zune compare to the iPod in size? I haven't really looked into the Zune because it doesn't do any of the cool things we were promised it could do just yet. Can you manage media through an established software or do you have to install Zune software? Does it work like a portable hard drive? Will it eventually sync to the Xbox 360 and allow us to transfer files? There seems to be an endless list of things the Zune just can't do yet. If I get one, it will be used as a portable hard drive and media player. I'm looking for something I can sync to my 360 and Mac...somehow I doubt the Zune will ever live up to our demands.

all of the effects were done in post. I dont use in camera effects.
Hehehe. Actually, that's what I thought...but I figured I'd get a rise out of somebody there if I threw in an accusation. Sorry, Laura. No harm intended. You’re totally awesome.
What was the motivation for desaturation to color shots in that segment anyway?

Thanks. It is indeed larger than the iPod, but only a little. I'll wait until it slims down a little before I purchase one...or maybe I'll just buy a new iPod.

Great video, looking into getting a zune, but i want to see what the zune marketplace will look like, and will the zune be compatable with other online services, such as napster, urge?

Would it be possible to offer a 3GP download ? I tend to watch my videos on my mobile phone
Zune ? I doubt I will get one, I prefer the devices that have plenty of different codecs supported. Still good to see a new gorilla on the field, gives pressure to the others to make their devices better and cheaper. I also feel Zune has too much DRM stuff in it. And in the long run the ones with rigid DRM will fail
Industry loves this crap, consumers hate it and there are more consumers than industry as potential buyers.
If the price is right the whole DRM crap goes to hell anyway. 2 $ for a music album and everybody buys it. 4 $ movie and everybody buys it. It's soo easy.... But if they big corps think only 20% profit a year make it they will have to realize this won't work in the long run

While you may not like DRM, DRM compatability is a good thing. If you want to use, say, the Zune Store, you need DRM compatability. That doesn't mean that you have to use the DRM, though. Feel free to just rip your CDs instead, or give your money to the few stores that sell MP3s.

Don't know anything about the marketplace yet, but no... it will not be compatible with the Plays For Sure services such as Napster and Urge
