Rory, in one of his final interviews for Channel 9 turned around the camera and interviewed me (Jeff ) for Channel 9.

Here's the description Rory wrote for this piece:

Jeff Sandquist was there at the beginning. He has been behind the scenes at Channel 9 for years. He was part of the initial crew and has had a tremendous impact on the development of the site ever since. Oddly, despite his core involvement, Jeff has never before done a Channel 9 interview. Here, we get to talk to him just after he's come back from taking several months off, and he's in a very, very good mood

Shawn Burke : Discussing the Release of .NET Source Code

Matt Winkler and David Tesar catch up with Shawn Burke to talk about the announcement today that the source for the .NET Framework will be made available.

In this video we find out about how this is all going to work and see it in action as Shawn steps into the Windows Forms code from Visual Studio. Shawn also talks about how this has been something he has been working on for a long time in order to bring a really deep debugging experience for .NET developers.

Lots of excitement about this today for sure.

Pablo Castro: Astoria Data Services

Meet Pablo Castro one of the folks behind Astoria. Astoria exposes "data services" that enable applications to access and manipulate data over regular HTTP connections, using URIs to identify pieces of information within the data service, and simple payload formats such as XML and JSON to represent the data exchanged between the client and the server.

Channel 9 now has a sister

This weekend we launched an all new community called 10 at http://on10.net

10 was built from the ground up using ASP.NET 2.0, SQL Server 2005 with a simple, easy to use design.

Our dream with 10 is to create a place for those people who want to use technology to change the world. Int his video Adam, Duncan, Erik and Jeff talk with Robert about how the site was built and the crazy weeks leading up to launching the site.

Since 10 was built by the same development team that builds this site, is their anything from the 10 experiene you'd like to see in Channel 9?

MSN Virtual Earth Team - Virtual Earth Ships

A couple of months ago we interviewed the Virtual Earth team and got an early look at what they were planning. They have now gone live so we went back and interviewed the team again. They jumped right into a demo and talked about some hot secret features: locate me and a developer SDK.

Pat Helland - Sings Bye Bye to Mr CIO Guy

What do you get when Pat Helland is on vocals, Don Box is on guitar and David Chappell is on piano?

You get a hilarious song direct from TechEd Europe.

Pat sings his version of Don McClean's American Pie.

The lyrics were written by Pat in response to Nicholas Carr’s Harvard Business Review paper “IT Doesn’t Matter” in which Mr. Carr proposes that businesses reconsider their IT investments. Pat says this is not the vision he sees for the future, but rather what is implied by reducing the investment in IT as proposed by Mr. Carr. This is a “speculative retrospective” in which we examine what happened “The Day That IT Died”.
