.NET 4.0 brings several improvements in the areas of WCF and WF, including improved REST capabilities, a new workflow model, seamless integration between WF and WCF, and a new visual designer. It also provides the ability to author completely declarative (XAML-based) workflow services that can be more easily deployed, hosted, and managed. This session walks you through the various new 4.0 features and shows you how to write code using them today.

This video is recorded at the Dutch DevDays in Den Haag The Netherlands in June 2009. DevDays is the largest industry event for developers in the Netherlands. Thousands of professional developers visit DevDays yearly to keep in touch with the latest developments in their field.

  • Thanks Mr. Aaron Skonnard!  I've been watching your videos for a few years now and you've done it again.  this is really a nice intro to the new features of WCF 4.  I built  a site with nerdinner as the template pretty much.    I've been looking into taking a REST approach with my dog kennel site which is currently a basic MVC site.  it's been a good learning experience and converting to 4.0 REST would be nice.  I love the config defaults and the file-less features.

Workflow is another beast i don't really fully comprehend although I can appreciate the new features.  maybe now it will gain some traction.

  • Can any one tell me where the machine.config is located?
