The latest rage in Web site development is to "remix" or "mashup" services from a variety of different companies. Amazon's Jeff Barr invited us over to see how developers are using Amazon's Web Services in a variety of ways. To make it even better, yesterday they announced a joint Microsoft/Amazon Web Services Developer Contest where you can win $5,000.

According to your avatar you seem really serious and professional...according to you videos you seem like you like to have fun and laugh alot I think that is great and I think the Amazon guys do too. They seem really interested in having you there....if you ever leave MS I think you know where you can go.
Yeah, the team there was really great.
Very interesting.
I may have to look into Amazon web-services again. I was put off last time because of the difficulties of supporting both amazon.co.uk and amazon.com.
Being from the UK my account is with amazon.co.uk, whilst other visitors to may have a .COM account. It made it very difficult to build a cohesive store front.
I'll have to go and look at the site and see if they've come up with a workable solution.
So we've had visits to Google and Amazon. Where next? Apple hopefully?
This may be a little off topic, but I've always wondered what the Amazon website is written in (apart from HTML, CSS and JavaScript). Does anybody know?
Cybermagellan, as you noticed in the video, we do have a lot of fun here, and we are always interested in expanding our team. To learn more about the opening on our team, check out my recent blog post, Jobs on the Amazon Web Services Team.

I don't a URL for the Collage Generator application yet, but you can see something very similar at http://www.francisshanahan.com/collage/bezos/bezos_b.aspx .Have Fun,
Jeff;
When I ask them why they don't do as the US site does they come back saying they are a different company which I think is ridiculous. So when is the UK site going to get previews in WMA?
Try it's web-based search functionality too.
