So, one of my favorite things to do whether I'm working or not is to visit video game companies. A few of my favorites are Epic Games, Red Octane, and now Flagship Studios. Which is located just off the water in beautiful San Francisco. A few of my lady gaming friends work there and with a little begging and pleading they were kind enough to give me a sneak peek into Hellgate: London for the PC. I sat down with their Chief Visionary Officer David Brevik and if any of you are Diablo fans, he not only named the game but was one of the masterminds behind it. He also talks openly about his road to Flagship Studios. So what's the deal with HellGate: London. Besides the fact that it's real, real pretty...I'm gonna tell ya, or David is.

I had been browsing the 10 website and sketching in Photoshop just seconds before this post went up. If not for auto-updating my podcasts, I might have missed it until later today.

How I envy you. I love San Francisco. I’d give up quite a bit just to go, even more to go with you. Anyway, A friend of mine is an enormous Diablo fan and has been talking about this game for two years now. I have to admit, it looks awesome. I'd be a little more interested in following it if it wasn't for the fact that my interest in PC gaming has been steadily waning these past few years. I work on computers day in and out, so I prefer to relax away from the keyboard where things are simpler.
Hellgate: London looks simply amazing, if not dark in a really wicked way. Flagship Studios has nailed the demonic designs, even more so than Doom. That’s how demons and legions of the damned undead should look! I'm really impressed by the character designs and level of customization. The resource management and upgrading elements inherent to RPGs looks stellar in this game. The graphics with all that lighting and particle effects are so polished that I doubt the system requirements will be friendly at all, despite what David said. I have a feeling that I'm in desperate need for a new gaming PC. There's never enough money to go around.
Great segment, Tina. Thanks for keeping us on top of the games.

Oh yea, it's so pretty. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
This game does look awesome. These are my favorite types of games. Dark, violent, creepy setting, badass vs. evil forces. The dual laser beam gun rocks. I hope it comes to the 360 or PS3 cause my PC is so old it's actually chiseled out of stone. You can't imagine how much trouble it is to move.

'tis a good year for PC Gaming, no matter what they say: Oblivion, Fear, Gothic 3, Neverwinter Nights 2, Heroes of Might&Magic 5, etc etc. This makes me a happy camper. I wasted years of my life playing Diablo 2 (LoD) on-line so can't wait to see what they came up with. The cutscenes definitely look Blizzard-worthy.

Well, it looks like we a have a candidate for one of Tina's games to demo in the dark =)
Yeah, I agree....the game looks excellent (and it's from the Diablo dudes!). I'm sure we won't be disappointed.
I really like the concept of playing the game in either 1st person or 3rd person. And I also like the customization to the weapons and characters. Should be very interesting.
As expected, the CG cut-scenes look incredible and the actual gameplay/graphics appear to be a hell (worst pun ever, I know
of a lot of fun.
Flagship, please port this to the Xbox360 (my PC's GPU is also out-dated and I'm too lazy to upgrade). That would be just terrific.

Oh yeah, love the game demo in the dark segment.

HeYo Tina!
I think the game looks great, as well as the weaponry, we have seen a fair bit of this game over here, and anticipation levels are high, as well as expectations.
I hope that Flagship take full advantage of the location, London seems like the perfect backdrop to this kind of game.
London has had more than a few horrifying tales to tell throughout the ages, their recreation of London looks genuine, but i hope they have made trips here and scouted out the many areas that would be ideal to be mapped into the game, i also hope that there are some major set pieces at the historical sites, as it would be very gratifying to trash the hell out of my city, and in particular all symbols of the "establishment"- ( sorry, the Anarchist in me:)
*It looks good, in fact many PC games on the horizon are looking good- EA's Crysis looks equally amazing,-now that is a game that has to appear on the 360, but i wonder, is the 360 capable of recreating the highest form of game physics yet seen in a game? in hope so, i love the look of that game, it reminds of the film Predator, which is no bad thing.LS
Thanks Tina , it was great to see the game in motion, Bye
Linkyshinks XX:)

thanks for the tit bit of info, ive just seen that there is a forum already set up regarding the game and the specs required , it seems as though you will need Vista running and will need 1.5 RAM, and a X10 complaint v card to get the the best from the game.LS

Yup...yw...it's one of the first DX10 games. DX10 is only available on new hardware made specifically for it. Fantastic looking games take fantastically big hardware.
