How do I download the videos?
- To download, right click the file type you would like and pick “Save target as…” or “Save link as…”
Why should I download videos from Channel9?
- It's an easy way to save the videos you like locally.
- You can save the videos in order to watch them offline.
- If all you want is to hear the audio, you can download the MP3!
Which version should I choose?
- If you want to view the video on your PC, Xbox or Media Center, download the High Quality WMV file (this is the highest quality version we have available).
- If you'd like a lower bitrate version, to reduce the download time or cost, then choose the Medium Quality WMV file.
- If you have a Zune, WP7, iPhone, iPad, or iPod device, choose the low or medium MP4 file.
- If you just want to hear the audio of the video, choose the MP3 file.
Right click “Save as…”
- High Quality WMV (PC, Xbox, MCE)
- Mid Quality WMV (Lo-band, Mobile)
- MP4 (iPod, Zune HD)
- WMV (WMV Video)
I sit down with Michael Manos the senior director of Data Center Services here at Microsoft. Microsoft is building some massive facilities in various places around the world. It houses everything from Live to Hotmail. Can you imagine a building 1.3 miles big? And its full of thousands and thousands of servers. He talks about effeciency for environmental reasons and how Microsoft is going green.

Fascinating feature Tina, I have always wonderd about such things. Wow, I suppose security of such sites is very important. I find it interesting that these server centres may become vital to how we all live our lives far in the future.
Some of those sites are imense, the ramifications to the environment should be tackled now, surely devising a cooling system on that scope is a hard task, but if it could be done efficently the overall efficency of the servers would improve also surely?. If that is the case then i believe the importance of the location of such sites is even more important.
I find it cool to ponder that one day such sites may mimic that of cpu's and other circuitry, where the harnessing of the environment is used to cool such sites, by channeling...

Great feature Tina, I genuinely found it interesting. Add me if you can

The logistics of constructing information server buildings so large is phenomenal. I'd really like to see a segment or two about the construction process. I'm sure that would be wild.
It’s great that you’re posting regularly, but will you be doing any more segments on camera, or are you going to keep hiding? I'll have to send you an email.

lol ask a country like france if they would trade versaille, the eiffel tower, the arc de triumph and the louvre for those and guess the answer... very powerful and not only in terms of energy comsumption.
