A look at the Xbox Live Arcade line-up

No doubt about it, Microsoft's Xbox live Arcade has been a smash hit: not only for Microsoft, but for gamers. Who here hasn't spent hundreds of hours playing Frogger, while reminding yourself that you used to be so good when it was on the Atari. How many of us have played Texas Hold 'em until the wee hours while dreaming about quiting your day job and joining the Poker circuit? Don't get me started on Galaga and Uno either. Well, after doing a bit of research it looks like there may be a few other games coming down the pike. We have no release dates yet, but we do have titles.

If all of you reading this could port a classic game or build a new one for Xbox Live Arcade, what would it be?
Personally, I'd go for some Sonic the Hedgehog (the classic Sega stuff). I believe that was announced at E3, but haven't seen anything about it.

I've definitely played my share of the Uno and Geometry Wars. I got Doom, Street Fighter 2, and the wonderfuly weird Cloning Clyde as well. I think the next game I'm most looking forward to is Double Dragon. That was one of the first games that I obsessed over as a kid, and at the roller skating rink when all the other kids were, well, skating, I was at the DD machine!

As I stated about Double Dragon is a game I'm excited about seeing ported. Other classic arcade games I'd like to see are Killer Instinct, maybe Mortal Kombat 2, P.O.W., Final Fight from Capcom. Those are just off the top of my head.

What I really want to know is where all all the timeless Atari and Arcade titles? I'm talking about Yar's Revenge and Cubit here! That, and could you imagine a new Tron arcade game? That is the future of Xbox Live Arcade!

Ah...damn! How could I have forgotten about Pitfall? I must be out of my mind! I love pitfall...and I just played it a few days ago. It's an arcade challenge in Marvel Ultimate Alliance. 3D super heroes in the good ol' 4-bit 2D game - classic.
Pitfall is just screaming for Xbox Live Arcade! It needs to be delux like Time Pilot. The original unaltered game and a snazzy HD makeover version - instant arcade classic!

My dream XBLA game would be X-Wing or TIE Fighter, updated to be playable with a 360 controller. If that happened, I would need to sit in the bathtub in order to contain my tears of joy.
