WebMatrix is a new, free, web development tool from Microsoft that provides a suite of technologies that make it easier to develop websites. It enables a developer to start a new site by browsing and downloading a fully functional app template from an online gallery of web applications, or alternatively create and code a website from scratch.. Razor is a new scripting engine that ships as part of WebMatrix which is designed to minimize the number of characters and keystrokes required when writing code, enabling a compact and expressive syntax which provides a clean, fast and simple development experience. Razor is the native syntax for Web Pages and the new default view-engine for ASP.NET MVC, but it was also architected so that it could be hosted by other Applications. In this session we will explore the new Razor syntax, the power of reusable components known as Razor Helpers, and how the largest open source project for ASP.NET, DotNetNuke, has provided deeply integrated support for Razor as an alternate method for developing plug-in extensions.
