I’m Alex Turner, a Program Manager for the Visual Basic and C# Compilers, ensuring we continue to push forward the boundary of language innovation, while shipping our compilers on schedule. For Windows 8, I’m driving the new ‘await’ keyword in Visual Basic and C# that makes asynchronous programming super simple, without callbacks! With the number of async APIs shipping in the Windows Runtime, ‘await’ will be something developers make use of every day. In my free time, I love to watch movies and play video games, and have just started playing squash.
