Gene Chellis

Gene Chellis is Principal Group Program Manager for the Hybrid Storage Services team in Windows Server, after directing program management for the Windows File Server team for the Windows Server 2008R2 and 2012 releases (including development of SMB 3.0 and dedup). His team is also responsible for the Cluster-in-a-Box (CiB) program and the Windows Storage Server business. Since joining Microsoft in 1997, he’s held a range of roles, from program management in commercial internet servers, to business development for Windows core and server, to senior director for Platforms Competitive & Regulatory Affairs. With education in business, computer science, history and law, Gene's prior pursuits have included a software startup, technology consulting, law practice, and world music production.
