Laura A. Robinson is a principal security architect in the ACE Infrastructure Services group within the Information Security and Risk Management organization in Microsoft IT. In her current role, she works with global and strategic customers in a number of industries, working to provide holistic, effective security assessments and architectures. Laura focuses on core infrastructure, Active Directory, public key infrastructure (PKI), identity and access management (IAM) and platform security, and works to devise innovative solutions to security problems. She believes that "best practices" must change over time and context, and she regularly reevaluates approaches to security to determine whether they stand the test of time or require fresh approaches to bring the greatest benefit to Microsoft's customers. Laura has spoken on information security topics at various industry conferences over the past 15+ years and has authored, edited or contributed to a number of technical publications in that time. For the past four years, Laura has been heavily focused on assisting customers who have been compromised by determined human adversaries such as APTs and other organized attackers.
