With the advent of GPS phones and devices, spatial data is becoming increasingly more central to data processing and everyday applications. This session provides an overview for the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 spatial types and methods, focusing on some common pitfalls and differences between the flat map type geometry and round earth type geography. This talk is geared towards programmers with some spatial background, but is applicable for the novice audience as well.
