The accessibility of touch gestures in Windows Mobile 6.5 creates new opportunities for an immersive and engaging user experience, not just in the operating system but also in our applications. The best use of this technology requires some understanding of how gestures are captured and processed by the OS. This session explores in detail the mechanics of the gesture infrastructure to help guide developers in choosing how best to utilise these features in their applications. We explore the relevant bits of the Windows Mobile 6.5 Developer Resource Kit, using managed and native code to make use of the gesture, physics engine, and WindowAutoGesture APIs.
