Since the arrival of Web mapping applications such as Bing Maps, rich geospatial content became more accessible and easier to use. However not all of the implementations we see today deliver a good user experience. In this session learn how to build well performing Web mapping applications using AJAX technologies and even more visually engaging rich Internet applications using the Bing Maps Silverlight control. After a quick lap around standard requirements such as database connections, integration of multimedia content and Photosynth, we make the next steps towards tracking applications, location intelligence and integration of traditional GIS. Throughout the session see integrations with Windows Azure, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (Spatial), SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services and more.
