The release of Visual Studio 2010 represents an unprecedented leap forward in both extensibility and rich experiences. Re-written in WPF, the IDE now provides a virtually limitless set of visual and functional capabilities that have proven popular with extenders. This extensibility greatly improves our competitive edge against Eclipse and has opened the door for extension writers to reshape the way we use Visual Studio. In this session we'll show you what extenders have come up with to enhance Visual Studio, with demos of the most popular extensions out there. Likewise, you’ll learn how these free tools, available on the Visual Studio Gallery, can "wow" your customers. A customer wants a spellchecker? We’ve got that. A customer wants to change the theme of the shell? We have that too. Lastly, we’ll show you a Microsoft sponsored pack of extensions called the Pro Power Tools, which provides an entire set of improvements to the IDE experience.
