A VDI deployment cannot be complete without enabling a great user experience, which includes the ability to access a media-rich Windows 7 desktop, as well as local devices in the remote virtual machine. In Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, we are introducing graphics virtualization with ‘virtual GPUs’ (vGPU) and a new USB device redirection functionality or VDI as part of the new Microsoft RemoteFX user experience enhancements with RDP. This session discusses the scenarios and benefits of the new vGPU and USB device redirection features, their support for a broad range of access devices, and drills down into the architectural and implementation details of them. If you want to learn about RemoteFX and how it bolsters Microsoft’s user experience story for VDI, and if you want to see the new features in action with a few interesting demos, this is your session!
