.NET is traditionally thought of as a language for use in writing client-server applications. But have you ever considered using your existing C#/VB .NET skills to build something like a robot? The .NET MF is an open source toolkit allowing you to utilise your existing language skill to develop with embedded electronics. To make this even easier, Microsoft recently released the .NET gadgeteer as a rapid prototyping system to allow you to get up and running easily with building small electronic devices and hardware. This session will show you how, using the .NET MF and gadgeteer products - and will explain the principals involved in getting your first robot up and running.
