Organizations implementing Microsoft Online Services have several possible scenarios for migrating data to the suite of services and for operating the services in co-existence with on-premise servers and infrastructure. This session explores co-existence scenarios ranging from simple parallel systems to long term co-existence with directory synchronization. This session also explores migration scenarios such as single-phase migration, in which an organization's systems are transitioned to Microsoft Online Services in one session, and multi-phase migration, in which groups of users, data, and applications are moved over time. Additionally, this session demonstrates how Microsoft is delivering on its software-plus-services vision by allowing organizations to transition IT operations from on-premise servers to a hosted service.
