In this session we present the new SQL Server® Fast Track Data Warehouse reference architectures for SQL Server 2008. Launched by Microsoft SQL Server, this new program accelerates data warehouse projects by taking advantage of new reference configurations and tailored solutions from Systems Integrators. The new reference architectures offer significant benefits to our customers in terms of lower TCO via a balanced system, lower operational costs and shorter time to solution. Best of all these new reference architectures reduce project risk through predefined hardware configurations and best practices for data warehouse deployments. Implementing SQL Server® Fast Track Data Warehouse reference architectures also puts customers on the upgrade path to Project codename "Madison". Project Madison is the massively parallel processing (MPP) data warehouse solution being developed by Microsoft. Project Madison will enable SQL Server data warehouse solutions to scale to hundreds of terabytes and beyond. The roadmap of the new reference architectures for both SQL Server® Fast Track Data Warehouse and Madison data warehousing will be presented. If you want to learn how to fast track your data warehouse projects or understand the pathway to scale out data warehousing on SQL Server this session is a must.
