With over 13 years of managing Software Projects, Gregg Boer, Principal Program Manager at Microsoft, has learned more than a few lessons the hard way in regards to managing software projects. This session covers practical tips that greatly increase success and real-life lessons learned "in the trenches" of getting software projects out the door. It covers topics such as planning, communication, change control, risk management, defining exit criteria, managing bugs, and more. This is not an in-depth session covering the academia of each of these topics, but advice from someone who has been there, done that, sometimes failed, and learned.
